Questions buyers ask
Who receives the mining rewards?
You do. Your machines hash to SegPool or to the pool you name, and the payouts go to your pool account.
What does the hosting rate cover?
The electricity your machine uses and its place in one of our centres, with cooling, monitoring, regular cleaning and routine maintenance. Insurance is not included. A new miner bought from us on Hosting gets free repairs for an initial period, and we handle the maker's warranty claim; after it, or on a used miner, repairs are quoted before any work. Full-care hosting covers every repair for its term.
How is my rate set?
Machines you own are hosted at 6.0¢/kWh for 12 months, with a refundable hosting deposit, whether you buy them from us or ship them to us. A machine bought from us can also go on Full-care hosting, with every repair covered for its term. Cloud mining hashrate on our own machines is 6.8¢/kWh, with insurance and repairs included.
How do you measure uptime?
Our operations system tracks every machine around the clock from the mining pool and from an agent at the site. Uptime is machine-hours hashing divided by machine-hours installed, per day.
What do I see as a client?
Every hosting client gets an account on the Segments client portal: each machine's status and hashrate, uptime over 30 days, invoices and payments, repairs and support requests, and reports you can download. Alerts come by email, WhatsApp or in the portal, as you choose.
How fast does my machine start hashing?
An in-stock machine bought from Segments and hosted at one of our centres is hashing within 24 hours of payment. For machines you ship to us, each centre shows its current lead time.
Can I bring my own machines?
Yes. Ship them to the centre we agree on, or ask our team to arrange collection. They are tested and racked when they arrive.
Which machines can you host?
Bitcoin ASIC miners, air-cooled and hydro-cooled. Desktop units such as the Bitaxe are not hosted.
